3.23.20 | 4:45pm

As our organization navigates through the uncharted territory of dealing with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, we feel that it is important to communicate openly with our membership as the situation changes.  The Board of Directors and I have been in communication and we would like to share with you the current state of affairs (3.23.20).

Governor Whitmer’s Executive Order and How it Affects the Club:

Governor Gretchen Whitmer today issued Executive Order No. 2020-21.  After reviewing this order and discussing it with the Board and staff, we will continue to offer takeout and/or delivery service seven (7) days a week.  The Club has made and continues to make every effort to keep MCC a safe environment by enforcing strict protocols including rigorous hand washing, cleaning and sanitation efforts.

Club Takeout:

Going forward, we ask that each member who places a takeout order calls the Front Desk when you arrive.  An MCC staff member will bring your order to your car.  This will continue in order to alleviate any congestion in the foyer. We will be enhancing our takeout options over time and we plan to offer an Easter Holiday Package similar to our annual Thanksgiving package.

Golf Course:

The golf course will open each day at 11am for Full Members (per the Executive Order “individuals may leave their home and travel as necessary to engage in outdoor activity”).   Golf carts will not be available nor will any member of the golf services team.  If you are interested in walking the course with your clubs that are stored at MCC, please contact Jim Deiters at jdeiters@midlandcc.net or at (989) 205-0618 and he will arrange to have your golf clubs and a push cart available for you to pick up. Once clubs are taken out of bag storage, we ask that you keep your clubs with you until the Executive Order has been modified or expires. Lastly, please continue to make tee times online or on the MCC app to ensure we do not over-crowd the putting green or 1st tee.

Our MCC Staff Members:

This community is so caring that the most common question we have received is about the welfare of our employees.  In any emergency, people rise to the occasion and the staff of MCC certainly has.  As it became evident that Club operations were going to be significantly impacted, our Board of Directors have unanimously approved emergency measures to meet the immediate needs of both our full and regular part time staff who find themselves currently underemployed.  These measures will be put into place to ease economic insecurity until government measures come into full effect. We are also offering to-go meals for our employees and their families each week.

Members may still to reach out to me directly if they have a safe opportunity for work (i.e. yard work etc.) for some of our employees or you may contribute to our Employee Relief Fund by contacting Kevin Schroeder at kschroeder@midlandcc.net or 989-832-4286.

We are all in this together:

We are doing everything we can to allow the Club to still be a helpful part of your lives and to protect the employees that serve the Club.  We will continue to offer the limited services we are allowed at the moment (takeout, golf and fitness videos, etc.) and we appreciate the support you have given throughout this crisis.  The Club has a new banner on our website home page that contains frequently asked questions as well as the most recent updates from the Club and State authorities.

Thank you for your support.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Sincerely,

Todd Beals, CCM

3.16.20 | 1:35pm

Effective Monday, March 16th, starting at 3pm, Midland Country Club will temporarily close the Clubhouse and all related facilities due to the recent Governors Executive Order. This decision was not made lightly and is in hope of preserving the health and well-being of both the MCC membership, staff and Midland Community.

During this time of closure, please note the following:

Dining: Dining service will be closed inside the Clubhouse. MCC will be offering pick-up and delivery service.  A limited a la carte menu and a family style menu will be emailed to the membership later today. Takeout orders will be available seven (7) days a week from 11am-6:30pm.

Club Events & All Private Banquets: All scheduled events at MCC are postponed until the recommended restrictions are lifted. This includes the Daddy/Daughter Dance and the Dow GLBI Townhall Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, March 24. Tyler Johnson will be in contact with anyone who has a scheduled event over the next two weeks to reschedule.

Fitness & Spa: The Fitness Center & Day Spa will remain closed until further notice. Please contact Kendra Matthews at  kmatthews@midlandcc.net if you have any other questions. Virtual workout classes will be available on online. More information to follow.

Golf Shop: The Golf Shop will remain closed until further notice.  Please contact Jim Deiters at jdeiters@midlandcc.net or Mitch Bos at mbos@midlandcc.net for any special orders or other requests.

Indoor Golf: Simulators and indoor practice areas will remain closed until further notice.

Locker Rooms: Members may retrieve items from their lockers today and tomorrow (Tuesday, March 17) between the hours of 9am - 6pm.  If you need items after this date, please contact the Front Desk at (989) 832-8866.

Kid’s Corner: Kid’s Corner will remain closed until further notice.

MCC Administration: The MCC Front Desk will remain open and route your call to the appropriate staff member. The Business Office will remain open Monday – Friday from 8am-5pm.

Our front door will remain open to allow for food pick-up but the other Clubhouse doors will be locked and secured during this time. We are asking for your full support and compliance in not entering the clubhouse or inviting guests on property during this time.

MCC will enforce strict measures to ensure staff on property are healthy and follow Health Department guidelines. Our housekeeping staff will remain on site to continuously clean the Clubhouse. We will also do our best to care for staff during this time of reduced work. We hope these measures support our nations effort to curb the spread of COVID-19 and we return to normal operations soon. The situation will be monitored daily.

If you are in need of any type of assistance during this time, please contact Todd Beals at 989-615-5598 or tbeals@midlandcc.net.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.
